Today, we listened to someone who actually sold a machine made by a very well known builder because the parameters could not be located after their loss (the machine suffered a Bubble Memory failure). This machine had some special factory options that were apparently undocumented. No one, not even the factory service people could economically reconstruct this parameter list.
The lesson? Save your parameters now! Most (but not all) of them can be easily downloaded via your RS-232 link to your shop computer. It is normal for the "option" and "PC" parameters of many models of CNC's to be excluded in the punch process. They must be WRITTEN BY HAND.
If you need help with this, write, fax, or E-mail our Service Manager. We are in the process of writing procedures for most of the controls we service. Perhaps other service companies will make any procedures they have available to us for distribution. YOU NEED A CURRENT PARAMETER LIST FOR EACH MACHINE.
