Uptime Significant Events^* Monitor

The Uptime Significant Events Monitor is a hidden utility that monitors the MDSI OpenCNC Significant Events log.  As events are added to the log, it searches for keywords that the integrator has identified as interesting.  Keywords that indicate an "urgent" event trigger an instant email notification, with the entire event log attached, to one or more email addresses.  Additionally the entire daily event log may be emailed to one or more addresses at the end of each day.

The Uptime Significant Events Monitor requires that the OpenCNC computer be attached to a TCP/IP network.  If email must travel to external email addresses, that network must be connected to the Internet and outbound SMTP traffic must be permitted.  The monitor sends email directly via SMTP using CDONTS for Windows NT.  The IIS SMTP service must be installed on the OpenCNC computer.
