Uptime has the in-house software engineering capacity to customize MDSI OpenCNC to your needs, fully integrating with it via the OpenCNC API. Much of our work is highly specialized in nature, but several packages may be generally applicable.

Uptime Tool Monitor

The Tool Monitor is a product of Uptime Electronics for monitoring machine tool life on a CNC display. It is a standard Win32 application that is tightly integrated into the MDSI OpenCNC environment. When installed, it is launched by the MDSI control menu alongside all other OpenCNC modules.

Uptime Virtual Joystick

The Uptime Virtual Joystick is an add-on to OpenCNC. Normally 2-axis movement is difficult using OpenCNC without an external physical joystick. Uptime's Virtual Joystick eliminates the need for such additional hardware -- appearing on demand and disappearing when it is not needed.

The Uptime Virtual Joystick 2D is the second generation of the Uptime Virtual Joystick for OpenCNC described above. Implemented using Microsoft's latest .NET technologies, the Virtual Joystick 2D affords the user 2 new modes of totally free 2-dimensional axis movement with dazzling transparent graphics.

Uptime Pound Variables Viewer

The Uptime Pound Variables Viewer is an extra window added to OpenCNC for viewing the contents of pound variables used by part programs. All variables may be changed simply by clicking on them and using MDSI's standard keypad. This is an excellent tool for troubleshooting complex programs.

Uptime Significant Events^* Monitor

The Uptime Significant Events Monitor is a hidden utility that monitors the MDSI OpenCNC Significant Events log. As events are added to the log, it searches for keywords that the integrator has identified as interesting. Keywords that indicate an "urgent" event trigger an instant email notification, with the entire event log attached, to one or more email addresses. Additionally the entire daily event log may be emailed to one or more addresses at the end of each day.
